Neil Sturchio is recognized for his groundbreaking work to bring novel approaches to address geochemical challenges, including fundamental studies of mineral-water interface structure and reactivity, the origin and environmental behavior of trace ions and molecules, and application of decay-series and noble gas radionuclides to investigate hydrogeologic systems. He also has contributed broadly to the geochemical community by: supporting the development of novel synchrotron- and stable isotope-based facilities and capabilities; building the capacity for geochemical research in developing countries; providing exceptional editorial contributions; and, training a diverse generation of scientists.
