Raúl Fonseca
EAG Councillor
Raúl Fonseca is a Professor of Experimental Petrology and Geochemistry in the Institute of Geology, Mineralogy and Geophysics at the Ruhr-University Bochum. He obtained a PhD in Experimental Petrochemistry from the Australian National University (Australia) in 2007 and worked as an Assistant Professor in Petrology at the University of Bonn (Germany, from 2007 to 2017), and was a Heisenberg Fellow at the University of Köln between 2018 and 2019. He is an Experimental Petrologist investigating trace element and stable isotope behaviour during high-temperature processes occurring in the interior of terrestrial planets.
His current work focuses on the effect that changing redox conditions have on stable Ti isotope fractionation during planetary differentiation events.
