Janne Koornneef

EAG Early Career Councillor

Janne Koornneef is associate professor at the Earth Science Department at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She completed her PhD at ETH-Zurich in 2011 and had a postdoc position at VU Amsterdam until 2016. Her research focusses on the geochemical evolution of Earth’s mantle and the exchange of elements between surficial and deep reservoirs as a result of tectonic processes acting over billions of years. She specialises in the analyses of radiogenic isotopes (Sr-Nd-Pb) in small geological samples such as olivine-hosted melt inclusions or mineral inclusions in diamonds.

Janne is the EAG Early Career Councillor, i.e. the voice of early career scientists within the EAG Council. If you have suggestions for improvements or ideas that we could implement to further support early career scientists, you can contact her via the EAG Office (office@eag.org).
