Ambre Luguet, University of Bonn
Biography
Ambre Luguet is a professor of Isotope Geochemistry at the University of Bonn (Germany). She completed her PhD in Geochemistry at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris and conducted her post-doctoral research at the Carnegie Institution of Washington (USA) and at the University of Durham (UK). Her research uses the highly siderophile elements (HSE) geochemistry and the Re-Os and Pt-Os isotopic systems as tracers of high temperature geochemistry processes such as the formation and evolution of the terrestrial mantle, the interactions between terrestrial reservoirs (core, mantle, crust) and the origin and age of HSE natural resources/mineralisations (e.g. Pt alloys). Since 2018, Ambre is an editorial board member of the EAG publication Geochemical Perspective Letters.
Motivation for serving the EAG council
My motivation to serve as an EAG council member is to contribute to the geochemistry community and the EAG activities, beyond being an editor for GPL. If elected, I would aim at promoting geochemistry within Europe and internationally as well as strengthening interdisciplinary collaborations between geochemists, mineralogists, and petrologists. In this scope, I am especially keen to help the EAG with its training and outreach activities that target the transfer of knowledge to students and early career scientists by sponsoring their attendances to workshops and conferences, the distinguished lecture program and the EAG-GS outreach program for under-represented regions of the world.
